Day 150 - Impressed

Its title: hip-hop jazz breakbeats. Honest.
Goodness me, I know some talented people. I just came back from Excursions - a hip-hop/jazz mash-up led with masterful musical prowess by Rob Grundel. The drummer was delightful (everyone loves a drummer!) and the bass player very pleasing. Musical skill leaves me awestruck, probably because I don't have any. They were ACE. Dave Waller, Ryan Millar, Matt Andrews and the fabulous first-timer Alex, who rocked it massively, with Rhiannon Vivian doing rich-toned vocals. Such. Good. Stuff. They were all really good, really impressive and I'm a bit blown away. Very glad I went. Good to see the hugely talented Simon Veal too. He wasn't playing tonight, but he is also excellent. Haven't seen him in beards.

The pond this morning contained Ruth, which was a Very Good Thing. She is a blessing, a gift, a lovely person. I was a tiny bit late (but thank you, Ruth, for getting me out of bed by promising to be at the pond). The lifeguards were late, too, so when I got there, the changing room was fuller than I think I've ever seen it. Lovely Corinna, Jane, Jo, a lady whose name I don't know, more, more... and Ruth. Her second time since November and she was in for ages.

Work tomorrow. For this, I am very grateful indeed. 'Night, then.
