Day 326: Republic of Glee

Eat it
Not even started and it's almost 1am. Bum.

I have just stuck transparent PVC to my white bedroom wall. If my plan pays off, I now have a whiteboard that stretches across all the reachable surface of one wall. That's good, isn't it? I'm experimenting with pens. These are exciting times!

Today was a gem. Up early, bath (it's hot - that's a massive plus). Filming for a short while. It didn't take long, what we did, but it was fun. And once again, what fabulous people. Thank you, Tom, Jess, Jess, Matthew, George and all the other people there. Pete, the sound man, was a pleasing petal. Very present and physical. Very engaging. The director (Jamie) had the best hair ever seen on man. Bigly curly. We worked out over the day that part of it must be styled and the rest is a habit of twisting and curling, much of it unconscious. I could have looked at it for a long time. I did. The lighting guy, whose name I don't remember, had made a fabulous film. I will remember the details. There is potential for voting to get it some funding and I tell you, it was really good. There. That's you told.

Simple glee
Thanks especially for lovely chats with Jess P. She inspired me lots today. Good face. Good energy. Very talented. Very genuine. I like her.

Then up to the Heath, unbidden. I got the bus. It was slow, but pleasing. Then I walked up to the pond. The grass was heavy with water smelt of festival field. I loved it. There were dogs everywhere. Lots of children too, but today, dogs were top of the list. There's a unique pleasure in watching dogs chase each other. More than children, even, you can see their glee at being chased. I also saw, in silhouette, a Great Dane on the hill, being desperately followed by a child who tried again and again to rap itself around said Dane. He was having none of it, but stayed just within reach until the crunch, then trotted on ahead. Loved it.

Eat it
Memories. I was kicking around the part of the Heath where years and years ago, we did some filming for a comedy pilot. I have some footage of that era, thanks to lovely Lucy T. For my showreel, innit. Need to get that shit sorted out.

Right. I have to sleep. There's more to tell. There was the pond (unforgiving until just over halfway round, then giving, giving - I had about 10 minutes as an actual ninja afterwards). So many good smells today. Memories of good conversations and more just had. Late tea, chat and blanket-lending with Ruth. (She me - the new place is loud. I'm experimenting with blocking out the sound.

Simple glee, only faster, and on the beach
Tomorrow? Dates, of all kinds. A boy in the morning, for an actual date. A lovely woman in the afternoon, to talk about a women-only impro experiment and Vic in the early evening... she's both a young man and the best woman ever. Tomorrow, you are welcome. I'll see you... tomorrow? How does that work? We'll find out.
