Day 377: Three Little Letters

Hats off to the NHS. Really really really, hats off to them for their responsiveness, their warm and generous care of my beloved friend, for their respectfulness and attentiveness and skill. They provide such a valuable service and I am deeply, deeply grateful for it. 

Thank you Debbie and Becky and Karen and the beautiful doctor whose name I don't know but whose face I could look at for hours and whose manner was gentle and clear. Thanks for the knowledge, the medication, the pillows and the kindness, and for not showing at all that they might be stressed or busy or dogged by cuts and staff shortages. 

I bow down before you, good people, and I say thank you.
