A short call today, which delivered news and practical details for something that's been in the background of my mind for a while, brought some of it to the front of my mind. Some emotional reactions popped up and held onto me for a while. It's fine. They're just there. Maybe better that they show themselves now. Thanks, then, to a calming yoga session with reliable old Swami Sivadasananda and his crisp German instruction. This could be an opportunity, couldn't it, to put this new mindfulness stuff into practice, to develop empathy and equanimity and to expand my capacity to stay centred. And just this evening has shown me that what was true in one moment has already moved on. I thought of all the things I've been doing over the last year and how they've helped shift my perspective, how they've given me tools and ways of thinking that I didn't have access to before.
