Day 404: Yoga Feast

Today can come again. It was brilliant.

An early up and a surprisingly warm swim, for 4 degrees. Definitely made warmer by laughing with some ladies in the changing rooms. Attracta and Ruth were there, the lady who chants in the garden before she swims (she doesn't speak much, but she listens), some others and a lady with a lovely, lovely face, who I don't know by name. I enjoy seeing her, though. It rained throughout my solo swim (the other ladies were leaving as I was arriving). Just beautiful. And I swam further. I decided halfway round it was time to let go of 'I'm not back to full cold-resistance yet'. I am. Just shut up and swim.

After that, a whizz down to Libby's place in Tufnell Park for what ended up being a one-to-one yoga session. Thanks, Libbster, for being so receptive and interesty and generally very nice. I enjoyed the whole experience. Thank you also to Sarah and David for being patient with me when I was almost an hour late for my session with you. I was so convinced I was in very good time, early, even. Just managed to mistranslate the time in your text from what it actually said to one hour later. I did that all by myself. No help needed. Thank goodness the rugby was postponed! We had a bit more time.

And what a lovely thing to do it was. Another yoga session, also a pleasure and an honour to teach (that's my first 'two in one day' day) followed by massage/massage teaching. I loved it all. I felt relaxed and at ease with both of these fabulous people and afterwards (as is always the case with both yoga teaching and massage), I felt a rich combination of revitalised, calm and grounded.

Thank you for the experience of making fresh pasta for the first time ever. That was fun. Squash it flat and make tagliatelle! And thank you, David, for cooking up a simple but nuanced vegetarian pasta delight. I'm glad you didn't make more. It would only have hurt. I remember it hurting last time I ate at your place. It's so good, there's just no way to stop!

So grateful for David's computer and little back room so that I could skype with lovely and brilliant Nicolò Bernardi, and for D&S not minding at all when I didn't surface until three hours later, with a smile on bigger than my actual face. Thanks, NFB, for being delightful, for being there and for inspiring me. Happy fasting. I'll join you in retrospect tomorrow.

And how lovely to get a lift, with bike, all the way up the hill because Sarah and David didn't want me to have to ride home in the rain. It didn't even matter when it stopped raining. We were already on track. Thank you, Ruth, for warmth, conversation and pineapple.

More days like that, please. More days like that.

Just as an afterthought, I'm still thinking about my embarrassing fart dream. At the time, I thought of this clip. Still thinking of it, and it did the trick again today.

I hope you enjoy it.
