Day 400: Yoga at Home

parental advisory?
What a delight that yoga lesson was! I went to the home of American pond-lady Sheila to give a lesson to her, her 17-year-old daughter and her 'extra daughter', of a similar age and obviously a well-ensconced and deeply loved member of the family, though not by blood.

They were all lovely, gentle, calm and open. We managed to fit three of them comfortably in their big front room. I went on a bit long - which is something I need to learn about.

I did throw in a bit of Anuloma Viloma at the start because they're both 17 and if they need to concentrate on studies, it can really help. I LOVE the snippets that come out when I'm not trying to get it right. Answers to questions asked. Suggestions. I still have wonderful Anita Holland to thank for much of it. Her words and her intentions stayed in my mind and in my body and she comes through so often in this context. If I am ever as calm, healing, soothing and inspiring a teacher as her, I will be very grateful indeed.

terribly modern om
I loved the relaxation. Its an honour and a privilege to teach a yoga class from start to finish, but it's at the relaxation that it really hits home for me. Maybe it's because people are lying in such and open and trusting way and allowing themselves to be taken somewhere. I love getting to play with voice and language and I love that each person in their own way is having a very different experience and making the whole thing what it is just with their presence.

SHOUTY SALE OM!
I finished late, after a quick chat about lower back exercises and general 'stuff' and some laughing (an important part of most things). I loved the whole experience. Thank you, sweet people, for allowing me to come and do this. I'm touched.

Touched and deeply moved by Ruth today, who stepped out to tell me what she thought was important and who made me a beautiful, generous offer, full of love, to help me reach that. I feel very blessed in all of this. She is wise and allthewaythrough good.

I loved my lunch with Ampersand Man Rob... always, always inspiring; funny, clever, full of depth, integrity and often of ridiculousness; such facility to laugh and to see things from clear perspectives. I loved that I found out at the end of lunch that he'd left his phone at home, so his lovely wife Pam had been bouncing them on to his email and his answers back to me. That really tickled me.  Thank you! Some of the responses were really quick. Good work, Grundels!

And thank you, Daniel Harvey, for your wise owl post. It ROCKS! What a great image you found. I love it.

VS and her actual face

Thank you for a timely, very pleasing ommail from the fox. I ALMOST got distracted, but there was yoga to be taught. Oommmmmmmmmmm.

(PS - tomorrow, I get to get up early for my own practice, then swim and then talk to the actual face of lovely Victoria Sandison on Skype. That's worth going to bed for!)
